MIG 2024: Call for entries for the 54th International GoldCup Competition
From 23 to 25 November 2024, the historic setting of the Mostra Internazionale del Gelato (MIG) in Longarone will host once again the prestigious international ‘ Coppa d’Oro’ competition now in its 54th edition. This event representsexcellence in the panorama of artisan ice cream competitions, offering master ice-cream makers the opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity.The competition format, while maintaining its roots in the success of previous editions, embraces the renewed mission of the Longarone festival, which aims to exalt true craftsmanship and the valorisation of genuine, local ingredients, with a special focus on DOP, IGT and STG brand products. The flavour chosen for the currentedition is ‘ Milk-basedPistachio ‘, known for its popularity and appreciation among discerning consumers. The competition will start on 23 November, when participants will deliver ice cream samples (500g ) for preliminary evaluation. A highly qualified jury under the management of the sensory analysis service sensory analysis service of Veneto Agricoltura will carry out a rigorous examination, based on criteria of taste and structure. Only the ten competitors with the highest scores will advance to the final round, scheduled for 25 November. During the final, in a dedicated and equipped area thanks to collaborations with leading machinery and equipment companies in the sector, the contestants will have to make an ice cream according to the natural criteria defined in the MIG regulations. A jury made up of authoritative personalities from the sector, with the support of a public vote, will decide the final winners, guaranteeing the anonymity of the samples until the end of the trials. Participating in the ‘GoldCup ‘ not only provides considerable media benefits, but allows the winners to display the trophy in the ice-cream parlour, a symbol of recognised excellence and skill in the professional field. The competition ‘s roll of honour includes many prestigious names, with Italian winners for 30 editions, followed by German, Dutch, Spanish and Austrian successes.
